About Lou Carlozo
A Chicago Tribune DVD critic, editor and former music writer, Lou Carlozo is also an award-winning songwriter. “Stick Figure Soul” recalls the likes of Tom Petty, the Byrds, Kinks, Matthew Sweet and Clash with doses of post-modern pop thrown in the atom smasher. Lou Carlozo at Double Door
Lou Carlozo—whose new album “Stick Figure Soul” made the Illinois Entertainer’s Top 10 list for 2007—plays the famed Double Door in a special early show Tuesday, February 19. Doors open at 7, Carlozo hits the stage at 9 sharp!
A staff writer at the Chicago Tribune, Lou Carlozo concocted “Stick Figure Soul” in response to all the underachieving pop albums crossing his desk. Asked to describe his sound, Carlozo gulps and says, “Tom Petty caught on a runaway rush hour El train piloted by John Lennon, who’s about to smash into a deisel owned by Bruce Springsteen, driven by Roger McGuinn and maintained by R.E.M.”
Lou Carlozo’s sold-out record release show in November ‘07 at Schubas was an APART Arts event. Ditto this show: The first 25 people in the door get free copies of Lou’s new instrumental CD “Sansavox.” For more information contact arts@apartinc.com or visit Lou’s MySpace Page.

Bizarre as that sounds, it’s all-good. I had a really great time and according to the wallet cards I picked off the table APART Arts is also sponsoring (deep breath again) an evening of original theatre and authentic Italian pizza with The House Theatre of Chicago’s production of The Nutcracker at the Steppenwolf Upstairs Theatre, December 19th, 2007, 8:00 pm. All proceeds will benefit Cabrini Green Legal Aid. These guys are busy for a pizza joint – but hey…” Continue reading…
